Get The Look: The EXACT products used to create Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding Makeup
With all that build up it’s hard to believe that the Royal Wedding has now been and gone! After much anticipation, Meghan Markle made her way down the aisle looking every inch as fabulous as expected and, much to our great delight, wearing pretty much exactly what Pam Wrigley said she would create for her wedding hair and makeup. Nailed it!
Whatever look she showed up sporting, it was always going to be the number one hot trend for brides to be all over the world for the foreseeable future, so just as well that it’s one we love. Her makeup was fresh and dewy, allowing those beautiful freckles to shine through and her hair (despite the complaints about a few stray fly-aways breaking the internet) was a glammed up version of her signature messy low bun.
We know you’ll all be dying to learn how to create Meghan’s Royal Wedding style and it’s just as well, because you’re going to have to be a dab hand at it with all the requests you’re going to receive to copy the look! You can go through it all step-by-step on our online bridal hair course, with loads of invaluable expert tips thrown in (you won’t see any fly-aways on OUR brides!), or come along to one of our 2 day or 4 day courses to really get to grips with it all through intensive hands-on learning.
Until you sign up to our online bridal hair course or book onto one of our 2 or 4 day bridal hair and bridal makeup courses though, we’ve got you covered with the exact makeup products Daniel Martin used and a few top tips on how to recreate the look.
In today’s blog we’re covering Meghan’s makeup. Keep checking back for how to create that gorgeous hairstyle!
Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding Makeup
Meghan’s no-makeup makeup has caused a bit of a stir. Although royal brides aren’t know for heavy glam makeup, Meghan’s simplistic look took things one step further. Super sheer and effortless, she went for a really fresh ‘girl next door’ sort of base with minimal coverage and completely natural tones that really allowed her to look herself as she said her I dos. Essentially, it was her daytime look refined – the very best version of herself and nothing more and this is what so many brides out there want.
But of course, despite the fact that her makeup was kept oh-so-natural, plenty of work and products still went into it.
Light application with fingertips or a stippling brush for a soft-focus barely-there finish
Dior Backstage Contour Palette
One shade darker than your bride’s skin tone for the contour, one shade lighter for highlighting. Blend, blend and blend some more!
A pop of pink on the apples of the cheeks, blended well with fingertips for a fresh, dewy glow
Pam said she’d put Meghan in a ‘bold nude’ lip and this colour pretty much encapsulates that!
Meghan wore this year’s hottest bridal makeup trend of the grey smoky eye, complete with thick lashes and an Audrey Hepburn liner flick – although the exact shadow palette used hasn’t been revealed, we love the Urban Decay ‘Naked’ smoky shadow palette.
