Another of our red carpet favourites has to be Keira Knightley. On 25th June this year she was in New York for the premiere of ‘Begin Again’. She chose to wear a beautiful deep blue gown and left her shoulder length hair loose and wavy which gave her a soft and sophisticated look. This is a great look which is easy to recreate and you can wear it anytime; from a day in the office to a night out with friends.

Get the look:

Step one – Wash your hair as normal and then prep it with some mousse. A tennis balled sized amount applied to the roots and then through the lengths will create lift and volume.

Step two – Blow dry your hair in small sections using a medium round bristle brush. Once hair is fully dry, create a centre part.

Step three – Take a 1-inch barrel curling iron and wrap around 1 inch sections of hair. Gently release each section from the barrel and leave to curl.

Step four – When your hair has cooled run your fingers through it to break up the curls and create natural looking waves.

Step five – To finish off spray your hair with texturising spray, particularly at the roots, to give a more relaxed look.

We took to the archives for Keira’s next look. In 2012 at the premiere of ‘Anna Karenina’ she wore a floor length, mint green satin gown with her hair in a neat roll around the back of her head.

Get the look:

Step one – Take freshly washed hair and apply mousse for hold. Next, blow dry it to one side of your head using a large round brush so that you can create shine and some lift at the roots.

Step two – Start from one side of your head and twist up the mid lengths of your hair to make a roll shape.

Step three – Add more hair until your reach the back of your head. Make sure that you tuck in any leftover pieces of hair and pin in place with kirby grips.

Step four – Repeat the previous step on the other side of your head, until all of your hair is rolled around the back of the hairline.

Step five – Add more pins if required to give some extra hold and then spray with strong hairspray to keep everything in place.
